What is Freeview?

FREEVIEW is a non subscription television service offering upto 145 channels including 33 radio channels and 14 high definition (HD) TV channels. The number of channels will be less if your TV signals come from a relay transmitter (e.g Bacup, Littleborough or Walsden) rather than a main transmitter (e.g Winter Hill).
All modern TV’s have integrated Freeview and some have a Freeview high definition tuner (HD) which is different from HD ready. The service is received through an outdoor terrestrial TV aerial which I can supply and install.

Is a new digital TV aerial required?

If you are in a FREEVIEW coverage area you may be able to receive the terrestrial digital TV signals through your existing television aerial and cabling if they are in good condition.
If you can’t receive FREEVIEW or if you are having viewing problems such as pictures breaking up or loss of channels, I would recommend an aerial upgrade to include a branded digital TV aerial and a good quality, double screened cable.
If the aerial installation is very old I would also recommend fitting a new galvanised bracket and galvanised steel or alloy mast.

All tuning following a Freeview aerial installation is free of charge.
